Wilson Pro Staff 97 V14
Wilson Pro Staff 97 Classic
Description
Best for: Advanced and high-intermediate players (roughly 4.5+) with full, committed strokes who want surgical precision, feel, and plow-through, and are happy to supply their own power.
This is a classic player's frame — the line Federer, Sampras, and Edberg made famous — and the V14 stays true to that: pinpoint control, a clean connected feel, and rock-solid stability at net. The new Paradigm Bending layup flexes more in the throat while keeping the hoop firm, so it feels noticeably plusher and more comfortable than past Pro Staffs, and the higher swing weight (~332 strung) gives your shots real weight and penetration. It rewards clean footwork and full swings; it will not bail you out when you're late.
Consider something else if: you want easy, free power or a large forgiving sweet spot, or you're still developing your strokes — the Ultra or Clash will be far friendlier.
